Breathwork
Master the breath, master the mind.

Breathwork is the practice of intentionally controlling your breathing patterns to bring about physical, mental, and emotional changes.
By intentionally shifting your breathing patterns, you can directly engage your nervous system to either rapidly reduce stress and anxiety or generate high energy for focus and endurance.
Fundamentally, it is a tool for self-regulation which enables you to manage stress through the power of your own breath.
With regular practice, breathwork brings about a multitude of benefits to the mind and body, and builds a compounded resilience to stress.
The Benefits of Breathwork
Stress and anxiety relief
Rapidly activate the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) to melt away tension and find calm.
Focus and clarity of mind
Improves cognitive function, decision-making, and helps you access a flow state.
Emotional resilience
Process trapped emotions and gain control over reactive responses for greater mental composure.
Improves CO₂ tolerance and oxygen delivery
Methods like the Oxygen Advantage® trains your body to improve the efficiency of gas exchange. This delays the feeling of breathlessness and fatigue, allowing you to sustain high-intensity efforts for longer periods.
Who is it for?
Breathwork is a universal skill, but it is particularly transformative for:
High-performers and professionals
Those who seek a competitive edge, sustained focus, and a way to manage high-pressure environments.
Athletes and fitness enthusiasts
Those looking to increase physical endurance, improve lung capacity, and accelerate recovery.
The chronically stressed
Those who feel constantly overwhelmed or "wired," and need a proven pathway back to balance and relaxation.
Wellness seekers
Anyone interested in powerful, self-guided techniques for holistic health, self-discovery, and personal growth.
Types of Breathwork Methods
These proven breathwork methods are globally recognized and heavily science-backed.
Wim Hof Method® (WHM)
The WHM is a powerful combination of controlled hyperventilation followed by a breath-hold. This practice is primarily used to influence the autonomic nervous system and immune response. It is highly effective for boosting energy, managing inflammation, and training the mind for resilience against challenging physical stressors (like the ice bath).
Oxygen Advantage® (OA)
Based on the principles of the renowned Buteyko Method, this method focuses on techniques designed to simulate high-altitude training. It aims to improve functional breathing patterns, increase CO₂ tolerance, and maximize oxygen delivery to working tissues. It's ideal for enhancing athletic performance, improving sleep quality, and alleviating symptoms of breathlessness.
Holotropic Breathwork
Holotropic Breathwork, developed by Dr. Stanislav Grof, is a powerful technique designed for self-exploration and deep personal transformation. Using accelerated breathing and evocative music in a supportive setting, participants are encouraged to enter an altered state of consciousness. This method allows you to access and process unconscious material, leading to profound emotional release, psychological healing, and spiritual insight. This workshop is ideal for those seeking non-ordinary experiences and deep self-discovery.

What goes on in a breathwork session
A typical session at Homing Inn is a guided, active journey.
Assessment and intent
We begin by discussing your personal goals and doing a check-in on your physical and mental state to select the most beneficial approach for the day.
Guided practice
You are led through specific breathing exercises while lying down. You’ll have complete control over your pace, with the freedom to pause, soften, or intensify your experience at any time.
Optional cold plunge
Following the breathwork which has primed your mind and body, you may opt for a guided cold plunge or ice bath. You get to apply your new breathing mastery to the intense stress of the cold. This amplifies resilience and solidifies your ability to stay calm under pressure.
Integration and dialogue
After the active breathing phase, we allow time for silent rest and reflection. This is followed by a guided dialogue to help you integrate the experience and discuss how to apply the techniques in your daily life.
Take-home tools
You leave with the knowledge of how to recognize your body’s signals and techniques you can immediately use to self-regulate at work, before sleep, or during moments of high stress.
